2022 General Election
YOUR VOTE IS YOUR VOICE!!!
Plainfield had a 59% turn out for the 2022 election on November 8th. The Vermont Secretary of State sent ballots by mail to all Vermont registered voters. 660 of Plainfield's 1123 registered voters voted in this election. Many thanks to all who cast their ballot in-person on November 8, Election Day, or who voted early in person, or who brought the ballot received by all registered voters in Vermont to deposit with the Town Clerk prior to election day. Many, many thanks as well to our Town Clerk, Linda Wells, and to Assistant Town Clerks Robin Miller and Carol Smith and to election volunteers and Plainfield's Justices of the Peace for their work to make Plainfield's November 8 election accurate, well-run, and welcoming. As is typical with elections in Plainfield, all went smoothly. All votes are appreciated! Plainfield's Election Results Report has been filed with the Vermont Secretary of State and is available here. This is the first year that Plainfield is in a district with just Calais and Marshfield for election of our member of the Vermont House of Representatives. Mark Mihaly of Calais won that election and will soon be assigned a Legislative email address to make contacting him easy. Plainfield is in another district for Vermont Senate which elects three senators to represent us. Those senators elected on November 8 are incumbents Ann Cummings and Andrew Perchlik and new Vermont senator Ann Watson. This report also shows the outcome in Plainfield for other races and for the two proposed constitutional amendments. Your participation makes our democracy strong. Thank you for voting!!! |
