Where You Can Register to Vote

• In person at the Town Clerk's Office
• In person or online at the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles
• Online at the Vermont Secretary of State's office

When You Can Register to Vote

• Verifiable residents can register to vote on any day up to, and including at the voting polls on Election Day. Town meeting is held at the Town Hall Opera House; all other votes are held at the at the Plainfield Town Office.

• Town Hall Opera House—Annual Town Meeting
• Plainfield Town Office—All other local and general elections

Early or Absentee Ballots

• ​You can request an early/absentee ballot by going online to the Vermont Secretary of State’s Early and absentee voting page. You can also visit the Plainfield Town Clerk’s office (149 Main Street) up to Feb 27 at 4PM.  You can either vote in person or fill out a form and receive a ballot to take home or be mailed (if time permits).  You CANNOT receive a ballot for a family member or spouse. 
• Note for "in person" voting: Vermont allows election day  voter registration and voting.
