Motor Vehicle Registration Renewal

Starting Monday Oct. 7th, 2024, the Plainfield Town Clerk’s Office will no longer process DMV paperwork. Please contact the DMV directly either in person in Montpelier or online. 


The Town Clerk will be happy to process your unmodified motor vehicle registration renewal two months before the expiration date (up to the day before the expiration date). Be sure to bring:

• The renewal form you received in the mail from the DMV
• A check or money order made out to the DMV in the amount of the registration fee
• A $3.00 (check, money order, or cash) payable to the Town of Plainfield

If your motor vehicle registration has expired, or you're modifying any information, you must contact the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles.
